During his recent appearance at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, former President Jimmy Carter stated that he made attempts at getting the U.S. to reduce its need for foreign oil and increase its use of alternative energy systems when he was president. He also explained that the Reagan admintration reversed those attempts and thus significantly contributed to current energy and environmental problems. That said, I'm of the mind that we might have 100 mpg cars by now among other improvements if Reagan hadn't employed his ignorant policies. So if we end up having resource wars, global flooding and other such geopoltical and environmental disasters, I say those disasters can ultimately be traced back to Reagan and his ignorant and uneducated policies
